The European TaeKwon-Do ITFU Open Championships 2026 will gather competitors, instructors and officials from across Europe and beyond in the beautiful region of Calabria, Italy. Organized by ITF Union Italy, this prestigious event promotes fair competition and the traditional values of TaeKwon-Do under the official ITF Union Rules.

Open to all ITF groups — the championship welcomes athletes of all ages and belt levels, from children to veterans, making it the broadest TaeKwon-Do event on the European continent.

From individual Tul to team sparring — six disciplines that test technical excellence, power and teamwork.

Individual Sparring

All categories — Junior, Adults and Veterans. Black Belt and Colour Belt divisions.

Individual Tul

Preliminary rounds: 1 Tul. Finals: 1 Optional + 1 Mandatory Tul. All categories.

Special Technique

Adults Black Belts only, according to ITFU Tournament Rules. Juniors Black Belts: Special Techniques only.

Adults Black Belts only. According to ITFU Tournament Rules.

Team Tul

1 Mandatory Tul per team. One team per country for Official ITFU members, plus Open Team Competition available.

Team Sparring

5 members + 1 optional reserve. New elimination system (ITFU Rules). 4-minute continuous round for Open Teams.

👕 Dress Code & Equipment

Required Equipment

  • ✅ ITF Dobok (white, any ITF group)
  • ✅ Open-palm gloves & boots (Fuji, Top Ten or similar)
  • ✅ Red/Blue full sets mandatory (Junior+)
  • ✅ Groin protector (inside trousers)
  • ✅ Helmet – mandatory all categories
  • ✅ Shin guards (mandatory Junior+)
  • ✅ Mouth guard (mandatory Junior+)

Important Rules

  • 🔴 Competitor called first = FULL RED equipment
  • 🔵 Competitor called second = FULL BLUE equipment
  • ❌ Closed boxing-style gloves strictly forbidden
  • ✋ Palms must be clearly visible at all times
  • 👧 Female breast protector: recommended
