The Organizing Committee calls on delegations to take part in a historic flag parade during the championship’s opening ceremony
Buenos Aires, July 11, 2025 — The ITF Union Taekwon-Do World Championship Argentina 2025, set to take place from October 9 to 12 in Buenos Aires, promises to be more than just a world-class martial arts competition. It aims to become a stage for unity, mutual respect, and cultural celebration. In this spirit, the Organizing Committee has officially requested that all participating delegations bring their ceremonial national flag to be featured in the opening ceremony’s flag parade.
This symbolic initiative will be one of the highlights of the World Championship Opening Ceremony, designed to pay tribute to each nation’s unique identity and to reinforce the core values of Taekwon-Do: mutual respect, inclusion, and international brotherhood.
Recommended specifications for the ceremonial flag:
- Suggested size: 1.20 meters long by 0.90 meters high.
- Recommended material: lightweight fabric such as polyester or satin.
- Design: reinforced edge for mounting on a flagpole.
- Purpose: formal protocol and opening ceremony.
Flags will be received during the accreditation process and may be returned to delegations after the event upon request.
Viviana Mondone, Director of Ceremony and Protocol, emphasized the symbolic power of this gesture:
“We want each nation to feel that their culture and heritage are part of this global celebration. This is more than a parade; it is a statement that through Taekwon-Do, we build peace, identity, and friendship among nations.”
With this initiative, the Organizing Committee reaffirms its commitment to making the championship not just a competition, but a true celebration of Taekwon-Do’s international spirit.
