ITFU Ethiopia is reborn with renewed leadership and regional expansion in full motion
In a major milestone for Taekwon-Do development in Africa, the International Taekwon-Do Federation Union – Ethiopia (ITFU Ethiopia) has officially restructured its leadership through a democratic election, laying the groundwork for a stronger and more professional national organization.
A new Board of Management with 9 elected members, led by Haji Kadir Abas, now stands at the forefront of this transformation, ready to guide Ethiopia’s Taekwon-Do future with integrity and strategic vision.
Five key committees have been established:
- The Technical Committee, headed by Master Dessu, to oversee national technical standards.
- The Referee Committee, led by S. Murad, to develop officiating expertise and credibility.
- The Discipline Committee, chaired by Mr. Abdulaziz, to uphold ethics and conduct.
- The Dan & Promotion Committee, led by Sabum Barakat, to ensure fairness and order in advancement.
- The Tournament & Seminar Committee, guided by S. Kalido, to promote competitive and educational growth.
ITFU Ethiopia now maintains active operations in over seven regional states, including Harari, Somali, Oromia, Southern Nations (Debub), Dire Dawa, and Addis Ababa—solidifying its national footprint.
This marks a new chapter for Ethiopian Taekwon-Do, driven by unity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the original teachings of General Choi Hong Hi.
Congratulations to the new board and committees! The future of ITF Union Taekwon-Do in Africa is taking shape with strength and vision.
Taekwon.
